Capital Blue Cross Short-Term health insurance coverage is now available. Affordable temporary medical plans for the Central Pennsylvania area are ideal if you only need benefits for six months (or less). Rates are very inexpensive and both individual and family plans can be purchased.
We provide the lowest short-term health insurance rates in Pennsylvania from the top companies such as Capital BlueCross, UnitedHealthOne, Highmark and Celtic. This type of policy will provide dependable benefits at a very affordable rate. But we also feel it’s important to properly explain the specific coverages and determine if it’s appropriate for you. Also, we represent other companies that may charge a lower rate than this plan.
The Capital Blue Cross plan is not the the cheapest temporary policy, but is one of the few plans that provides preventive benefits at 100%. Most other items are subject to a deductible, which is typical of this type of plan. An RX discount card is also provided, although the reduction in cost will only be slight.
Deductible options range from $500 to $5,000 for individuals and $1,000 to $10,000 for families. The application is short, and takes about 15-30 minutes to complete. Policies are often approved within 16-48 hours and lifetimes benefits of $1 million are available. Generally, if you have just left an employer, graduated from school or need “gap” coverage until a new policy begins, short-term coverage is advisable. You can always apply for a different type of policy including other BC plans.
