DO NOT buy this policy! I have been scammed since 04/09 by Cinergy Health! I have been paying my policy monthly via debit card and when I filed a claim in Nov.09 I was denied and they said I didn’t have the proper paperwork sent in for the policy. How was I able to get their card and packet and money withdrawn from my account if the paperwork wasn’t correct?!?! I have filed a complaint with the PA insurance board and also a watchdog group.
PLEASE do not get suckered in!

The plan you are referring to costs $241 per month. Granted, there are some attractive features, although there are some limitations of coverage that
could create very large out of pocket expenses for the consumer.
Also…using the example of a healthy 40 year-old male in the Pittsburgh area, the monthly cost for United HealthCare’s best policy (Copay Select) with just
a $2500 major medical deductible, is only $160 per month. Or…almost $1,000 per year less than the Cinergy policy.
In fairness, personally, I do recommend Cinergy plans for uninsurable persons that can not qualify for state plans. Cinergy has a niche, but it’s a
very specific niche.

While some of your comments are accurate, you missed the fact that these plans also cover 100% of the members’ doctor visits up to $100 each (5 visits per year per person) , preventive care, labs, diagnostics and x-rays, 80% of surgeons’ charges, mental health, $5,000 of accident medical care, and many more benefits. All of this is offered without a deductible. By comparison if your readers select coverage from the carriers you recommended, they would most likely have an out-of-pocket deductible of $5,000 or more in order to get a comparable premium. Additionally, as you indicated, too many Americans are uninsurable. What would you recommend for them? Fortunately, there’s Cinergy Health, providing insurance to everybody that wants or needs basic coverage, not just wealthy Americans and those that are in excellent health.
